This Privacy and Cookies Policy

This page sets out how I collect, use and protect any information that you provide when you use this website, and how cookies function. I may change this policy by updating this page. You should check it from time to time to ensure that you are happy with what it says. This policy was last updated in March 2023.

I don't collect or keep a lot of information, but it's difficult not to collect some. Read on to find out more.

What I collect

I'll probably collect the following information:

  • name and job title
  • contact information including email address and telephone numbers
  • other information relevant to your enquiries

How do I collect your data?

On this website I use cookies and I also collect information from my enquiry form, as well as from our conversations and correspondence. Information collected via cookies is anonymous and is used by Google Analytics to help me understand online traffic. Cookies are described below. Other information is stored securely and is destroyed when no longer needed or at your request.

What I do with the information collected

I require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • internal record keeping
  • to improve the service we provide to clients
  • to contact you in response to your enquiry

From time to time, I may also use your information to contact you for market research or publicity purposes.

I may contact you by email, phone, or mail. I may use the information to customize the website according to your interests or, with your permission, to promote my business. I will not share, sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless I have your permission or are required by law to do so. If you would like me not to contact you, simply email your instruction to contact@declanmorton.co.uk .

Cookies

A cookie is a small file which my website may place on your computer’s hard drive. The cookie helps analyse web traffic. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

I use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps me analyse data about web page traffic and improve the website in order to tailor it to visitor needs. I only use this information for statistical analysis purposes. Overall, cookies help me provide you with a better website, by enabling me to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie does not give us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

The website www.declanmorton.co.uk is advert free. I do not use cookies to generate targeted advertising from third parties and I do not receive income from advertisers. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

Links to other websites

My website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave the site, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Data Protection Rights

You have the right to request from me copies of any personal information that we hold about you. You have the right to request me to correct any information that is inaccurate, or to complete information you believe is incomplete. There may be a small charge for these services. Under certain conditions, you also have rights to erasure of information I hold, to restrict or object to what I do with your information, and to have the data I hold transferred to you. Given the specific data we collect, and the very limited amount we store, it is unlikely that you’ll need to rely upon these rights, but it is important that you know about them anyway.
