Press Releases

Copy, hot off the press

Attention in the press can be a real boost to a business, whether you're a start-up or a well established enterprise - or anything in between.

This is  the power of the press release - usually as another string to your bow on top of wider marketing activity.

Competition for press exposure - online or in print - is high. It really pays to engage with editors and journalists by giving them material they can use easily.

And to make that happen you'll need a press release that captures your story with clarity and enthusiasm, where the message is strong but not too pushy - pitched to engage and persuade without seeming like a hard sell.

My press release service - how it works

The first discussion

I’ll want to find out as much as possible about you and your business. I’ll want to understand your audience and what you intend to achieve with the press release or releases. I’ll make no apology for being a little pushy if I think you need to more specific.

I'll also need to really 'get' what your product or service is all about. If it's a tangible item, then I'd like to inspect a sample and learn as much about it as possible. The same goes for a service - I'll need to really understand it before I can start writing.

At this stage we'll also discuss prices and timescales.

A proposal

From our discussion I’ll create a proposal which sets out in detail what I understand the commission is, including time scales, frequencies, if it is for more than one piece, and my charges.  What we agree at this point becomes the basis of our agreement.

Research, writing and delivery

Once the commission details are agreed, I’ll get started on the research, including key words, and understanding the target audiences.   My price includes the first draft and up to two rounds of revisions if required.  Thus I'll make sure you have your press release before publication date so you can suggest changes if need be.
